When you’re practicing your sport, you are constantly interacting with other people, whether they are coaches, members of your team, opponents, parents or sports professionals. Within the context of the relationships you have with these people, you might find yourself in situations where you feel uncomfortable, confused, afraid, or stressed. You might even be physically hurt. The following tables show which behaviours are acceptable and which are not acceptable in your relations with others in the sports community.

- Congratulate me when I perform well
- Compete while respecting the rules
- Respect each other
- Demonstrate team spirit when playing

- Insult me, reject me, intimidate me or hit me
- Don’t intervene when others intimidate me
- Cheat
- Apply too much pressure on me
- Criticize my errors or those of my team members
- Want to fight
- Try to bribe or manipulate me into having sexual activities with them in exchange for favours or privileges

- Take the time to correct my technique
- Make sure I have fun when I practice my sport
- Act as role models with their positive and constructive attitude
- Help me manage victory well when they congratulate my opponents in a respectful manner
- Help me manage defeat well when they underline my sports ethics
- Treat me with respect
- Listen to my needs
- Treat all members of the team equally
- Care for my well-being and my safety
- Congratulate me for the work I do and for my efforts
- Show clearly that intimidation or any form of violence is not tolerated
- Ask me to execute movements or technical manoeuvres that are adapted to my level and to my physical and psychological capacities
- Accept me as I am
