Preventive measures

 

To ensure the security of young athletes who practice a sport, each sports organization should possess preventive measures or policies against violence in the sports community. Ask about such measures against violence in the sports community and get the name of the person in charge of the security and application of that policy within your organization. If such measures do not exist, suggest that your organization put preventive measures in place.

 

Preventive measures for sports organizations
    • There is a person in charge of the prevention policy within the organization.
    • There is a code of ethics for all involved participants (athletes, parents, coaches, professionals, volunteers).
    • There are guidelines on how to behave with children.
    • There are measures and sanctions to address problematic situations.
    • There is a suspension or expulsion procedure.
    • There is a screening process for volunteers and members of the staff.
    • There is a complaint procedure.
